I not only use it for my horse’s sulcus thrush (now as a maintenance/preventative), I also use it on the places where he develops/gets scratches. He is prone to both conditions – and I find if I use this product, I can almost get away with minimal breakouts/episodes, versus the severe outbreak he had once I bought him. Once or twice a week (depending on humidity or rain forecast) is all he needs now. I tried other products, and nothing works as well as this!

Thank you for posting these pro tips. It has been very helpful. First, let me let it be known I am Not blaming my farrier. My horse started parking out on all 4 feet. He looked like he was trying to be Superman. I knew this was not good. He also would stand and pull the dirt so that he had his heels lifted and his toes were down. I had laterals done on all 4 feet but it did not show any white line pockets and his angles were good and his hooves were balanced. (We just went through a year of rehab for his ft SDFT injury. So seeing him do this made my heart drop.) After your tips and multiple FB ads, I tried to take a look at the back of his hoofs. Unfortunately, some of the products the farriers use these days cover the back of the heel. ( Pads, dental molding, the pour-in pads etc) So I pulled it back/ off the heel to see if I could “see” anything.
To my surprise, all 4 hooves had heel cracks! He needs front shoes, so hinds were removed and the fronts replaced but without all the extra stuff so I could treat and visually inspect the bottom of his hooves. So glad I did. It’s been 3 weeks and they are healing, not completely yet but he no longer parks out, and only occasionally will you see him with his hind heels up as he rests at night. I could have saved $$$ in vet bills trying to figure out what was going on if only I had the knowledge to just pull that stuff off his heels and look!

When I bought my horse one year ago he had really bad contracted heals along with deep sulcus grooves from thrush. He was barefoot. With proper diet and a great farrier if had little progress. I didn’t take pictures, but I just got a TB gelding who has very bad thrush from the ice storm we had here in Texas. I applied No Thrush Powder on his feet and turned him back out into his still-wet pasture not expecting it to really do anything. Later I pulled him out and NO smell! The smell was so bad before when he stood on concrete you could just smell the thrush! I will never ever ever waste money on any other thrush product!

We absolutely love this product and have used it and seen real results and sulcus thrush is gone.. No Thrush Powder will always be a staple in our barn for sure… I also used this on my horse’s mane where she had a couple of bumps and was rubbing and itching her hair off and was bald. Within days the bumps were fading and within a week her hair was growing back and no more rubbing…What I would like to know if I could try it on is the skin between her teats/udders as she gets so much moisture and is super itchy would love to know if this might help there… I may just go ahead and give it a try

My rescue mare suffered from the worst case of thrush I’ve ever seen. Full deep cracks all way up and through her sulcus in all four feet. This product will always be in my barn. During the muddy season, I use it as a preventative. When I took ownership of my horse several years ago, he had horrendous sulcus thrush and the hoof pick went in all the way. I used No Thrush for 3 months and he has never had thrush again.

Question: what is the difference between the NT and the dust on wound powder? My old 29-year-old gelding cut his eyelid on the top of the socket during the terrible blizzard we had before Christmas. We feared the worst – frostbite, eye damage… we put on the wound powder and waited. Miraculously it has completely healed!! It went through the healing process stated above. I just want to say, if I could give NO THRUSH a million stars, I would! My 5 yo mare quite literally overnight went from sound to 3-legged lame. She had just been trimmed the day prior and my farrier said NOTHING about the condition of her right frog. I thought it looked different but assumed if there was any issue, my farrier would’ve addressed it right away. She even came out when I contacted her about her sudden onset of lameness, not a word. My vet came out the same day and said her frog is very soft and there appears to be a hole in it. We did x-rays, nerve blocks etc. I looked at her hoof that night and saw the hole my vet was talking about and also noticed this awful huge and obviously very deep Crack down the center of her frog that went all the way to her heel bulbs. there was also a Crack to the left and right of this crack. I looked at her left and compared both to a photo of a healthy frog. The Left looked great, the right was a complete mess. my mom had previously told me about No Thrush Powder and how she loved it and used it as a preventative for thrush. I started researching what this crack could be and quickly found out what a sulcus crack is and sulcus thrush, thanks to the Four Oaks informative website. I went out the next day, bought a bottle, and immediately began applying it twice a day. This was just 5 days ago! I’m posting before and after photos, the top is right before her first application and the bottom is today, just 5 days later. it’s almost unbelievable the difference and the improvement in just 5 days! I will continue twice a day until her frog is fully regrown and healed and thereafter as a preventative! If you’re on the fence and unsure about this product, don’t be. Look no further. Ok, I’m a believer!!! 2 weeks ago I needed more liniment for my mare and when ordering I decided what the heck toss in the small trial size of the No Thrush Powder…after all I’ve been battling some heel cracks for a long time what could it hurt to try? I love this product! It has worked great healing some stubborn thrush pockets on my horses. I’ve even started using it on my Boer show goats when they develop a little bit of hoof rot or wall separation. It has worked wonders on the goats’ hooves as well.

I ordered and this stuff works. I also got the NT Canine Powder for hot spots. My dog is allergic to everything and has been super itchy with bright red irritated skin. Using the NT Canine Powder she has been able to quit scratching and I was able to take her off of Benadryl.

Four Oaks Farm Products we discovered our gelding had sulcus thrush & probably has had it for years. I used the No Thrush powder at the recommendation of our equine body worker and it has cleared it up & closed the crack. We’re now able to do preventive maintenance. It really is a great product!
