Thrush Can End Careers

We have seen it so often. An owner sees that black, smelly goo every couple months, throws some bleach on it, and considers the problem done.  But what really happens?  Nearly all chronic cases of thrush occur because the sulcus (the tissue between the heel bulbs) has been invaded by bacteria.

Take a look at your thrushy horse. If that crack exists you will need to be extremely proactive. If you treat it with caustic products, those do indeed kill the bacteria, but the problem is that they will damage live tissue, making it impossible for the tissue to regrow [ the sulcus should be covered completely with hide. There should be no crack or access into the deep tissue.] Go to the photo-journal link to see examples.. And be sure to watch the video above to watch exactly how to use your bottle of No Thrush.
